Ingredients
- 2 lbs collard greens, stemmed and chopped
- 1 smoked turkey leg
- 1 large yellow onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Sauté the aromaticsHeat the oil in a large pot over medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic until softened, about 4 minutes.

Simmer the turkeyAdd the smoked turkey leg and chicken broth, bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 45 minutes to build flavor.

Add the greensStir in the collard greens in batches along with the vinegar, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

Cook low and slowCover and simmer on low for 1 to 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally, until the greens are deeply tender.

Shred and serveRemove the turkey leg, pull the meat from the bone, stir it back into the pot, and serve hot with the pot likker.
